Re: 4-EAT "Quck Change Module"
I have had one installed on my car for over 15K miles, on a good transmission. Definitely has improved shifting, especially under harder acceleration. Inexpensive and easy to install. There are other good options available but, will cost double or more.

I did not like the way the box was controlled by the TCU, it promoted a lot of slipping of the clutch/band engagement, as they tried to make the box silky smooth, and it is has been very sucessfull. There are about 150 working in SVXs all around the world. Cheers Harvey.

Re: 4-EAT "Quck Change Module"
Ewie,
after buying directly from Australia & fitting it after a few weeks (and talking to others in both AUS & USA) they had all told me to NOT FIT IT - if the auto was working correctly!!! These things (quote from supplier in AUS) are only to aid with slipping belt type syndrome - firms up the changes by supplying higher than normal working voltage to gearbox TCU (fools the TCU). If gearbox is working ok (as is my case) then they can potentially do more damage than good!!. Hence will still keep mine for when I need it!! Last edited by SURTEESS; 02-19-2012 at 12:20 PM. |

Don't know much... actually anything... about transmissions, but a slipping belt syndrome sounds to me like damage... damage that the "Quick change module" was designed to prevent, has already happened. Put it on after the fact? Sorry, but wouldn't that be sort of like closing the gate after the cattle get out. Keith |

Re: 4-EAT "Quck Change Module"
I bought mine from Oab_au about 4 years ago, about the time that there were a lot of doggy "dropping resistors" being sort on Ebay to fix transistor slipping issues with the gearbox - check on the following for various outcomes -

You have been given uninformed inaccurate information. As the designer of the unit this statement; Quote:
The whole intention of designing it was to prevent the slipping wear, and heat, that the "silky smooth" programing of the TCU produced. Instead, it will help to keep a transmission in good condition for a longer time. It is pointless to say "Hence will still keep mine for when I need it!!". If you read the labeling you would see that I state, "that it should only be fitted to a gear box in good working condition". Quote:

Re: 4-EAT "Quck Change Module"
Hey Harvey, not an issue for me - I have kept the unit & will one day use it (again), but since the said person has told me a load of c**p then I sincerly am sorry - but I am only going on what I was told at the time.
