I finally got the axle nut off and got the one off one of the spare hubs I have. So I'm just gonna remove that axle with the tranny and use the spare axle. I'll deal with the pin later.

I'd really suggest Dave's spline removal pry bar method before you get too far. They are just held in by pressure and just need a pop. It will make getting the tranny down and out a whole bunch easier.

Too late. It worked fine though. The inner cv joint just popped apart so the tranny came down easily.
