Re: Cylinder 6 Misfire

now this is really weirding me out. At the dragon meet for the XT board I had a buddy (phil) take his amazing vulcan vehicle mind meld technology (crazy snap on meter) and scope all the sensors... We are getting clean signal AT the ECU (meaning the wiring from the sensors is all good) as well as scope for the 1-3.4V Signal TO the #6 Ignitor lead AT the ECU and nothing.

While we were playing around with it, we swapped ECU's and STILL had the same miss.

there is GOT to be something wacky. BUT i can't for the life of me tell what it is.

Phill checked for bulletens on the Cloud and it said that MAYBE the tone wheel for the sensor has a worn keyway causing a minute degree difference. (this i have yet to check because of other issues)

try using one of these to eliminate parts of the wiring in sections, carquest sells them locally for less than this price. if all of the components test ok but you still have no spark then it could be a crappy wire somewhere. if your buddy has the fancy snap on scope then he should be able to tell if all of the teeth on the tone wheels are spaced properly without taking anything apart.
i have been fooled myself by wires that have good continuity with a meter but only have one strand still touching so it's lost as soon as the circuit is loaded

Re: Cylinder 6 Misfire

that may be the problem yes, Continuity, but not enough amperage passing through.... Sounds like i'll be using my Test light and battery pack here soon.
