After thinking about it, I think I know why he may have also seen some drips of engine oil. I just switched over to high mileage oil and it may have cleaned off the grunge on some seals. Supposedly that can cause a slow leak until the seals become re-conditioned. Sometimes that takes up to three oil changes. |

Re: Fluid leak
It is very difficult to say from here, but;
I have a similar problem with mine. If it is time anyway to change the timing belt, rolers and waterpump you might want to by a set of cam-gaskets (do not know the right word) at the same time. I also belive it will be a good thing to replace the check-valve an clean PCV-valve. There are a few things more but I cant remember Sorry to say - It is properly not just a loose spanner. Re: Fluid leak
Update on issue #2:
They looked for the PS leak with the UV light and saw a leak at one of the fittings on the pump which has become loose!? Hopefully that is all it was. One odd thing though. He said that what he thought was engine oil at at different spot was also glowing!!! High mileage oils wouldn't have an additive that glows under UV light, would they? Otherwise, maybe a little of the PS fluid mixed in with some engine oil that was leaking in a different place. Or maybe the PS fluid that leaked and dripped down the engine had baked a little and took on the appearance of engine oil. |
