Re: Cure for Headlight Haze
just a mention to what i did to clean my headlights, this information came from my father-in-law. who is an old school mechanic and owns a chemical company also. he had me take some acetone i had in the garage. a really clean diaper style cloth. wet the cloth lightly with the acetone and gently rub the surface of the lens. this cleans the lens and also the acetone slightly melts the plastic back to a smooth finish ::do not put the acetone directly on the lens, use the cloth:: then a few minutes of rubbing compound and a coat of wax and the look great

Re: Cure for Headlight Haze
Judging by the pics, it doesn't look like it locked in anything but awesome.

I got the car at the first of march, dropped the transmission a few weeks later. lucky for me my uncle has a junk yard so i swapped a legacy drivetrain into it for 100 dollars. with information from budfreak on the other site that is. just been working out the bugs lately. i am going to paint it next month. going with the original teal but going to try a new look with the green and paint the top black like some of the other cars. then i will have it back to what i would consider 90% these sites are fantastic for some of us middle of the road mechanics and i appreciate the information a lot. thanks for asking |

Re: Cure for Headlight Haze
I want mine to look that clear but am afraid I'll jack something up.
Why the hell aren't they glass anyways... I mean, even my **** 93 impreza has glass headlights... and the SVX was supposed to be flagship for Subaru? what gives?

Re: Cure for Headlight Haze
The micro mesh is the polishing kit I reccomended earlier. Any good hobby shop will carry it. Its intended for use on models. Being a modeler, I had it on hand.

I'd think plastic lenses would be less prone to breaking in an racing environment. The STI is used in racing, not the '93 impreza. JMHO |

Re: Cure for Headlight Haze
These are all good solutions but I use an old school/inexpensive solution; just use any brand abrasive toothpaste and a firm toothbrush (if really cloudy use a dishwasher scrounge), then polish w/Futura floor wax or McGuire's headlight polish.
