Tach Problems
So recently my tachometer started messing up. It doesn't read RPM's correctly anymore. At WOT it generally doesn't read any higher than 2500 RPM's. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the actual tach or possibly the wiring but something is causing it to read incorrectly. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks!

I'll be interested in reading the replies also. Mine has been doing that for the last year. Idles at 0 - 250 rpm, 2500 for shift points. I bought a replacement instrument cluster but haven't gotten around to swapping tachs. Had a similar problem on my Volvo and it turned out to be resisters on the back of the tach that went bad. In that case it was sent out for a rebuild.

I'm pretty sure that the Tach is driven by the ECU, so it should be solved with another cluster.
