He's looking for wheel horsepower. I think it's in the 179 range..

around 165whp with the auto and probably 10-12 more with the 5spd. Im not sure about the torque.

Auto is 160-170, manual trans or 4.44 auto should be closer to 180-190. Torque is the same. Numbers for a beat or well-worn SVX will be lower. Since noone has dynoed a fresh engine we can't really say.

N.B. Torque at the wheels at a nominal engine RPM, will vary considerably with any changes in the final drive ratio.

Gears won't change peak power..

At the same time, there will be no change in the power delivered, other than what could be a slight variation due to differing gear friction/losses. Think on what happens when you select a lower cog on a push bike. You may move forward more slowly but with the same amount of energy (power), you generate sufficient torque at the rear wheel, to climb a hill.

Less [required] effort = more power, in this case.
I was also trying to point out peak wtq and whp would likely be very similar. The crank values are only off by 2 units.

The values being quoted are high for a stock svx. The 179 whp thrown out was my car which had stage 2 on it at the time. Most awd SVXii dyno in the 150's--some are in the high 140's.
I dyno'd a stock svx recently but I didn't even ask for the file or print out at the time. I just did it for a baseline to overlay the next modded pull over. After the next time I dyno it will show up as the baseline in plots posted on the www.ecutune.com website. Torque measurements from the dyno can be given as wheel torque or crank torque. If it is given as crank torque it can be calculated based on the gear ratio or an rpm probe depending on the equipment. Often times the dyno print outs are print screens from the monitor display in which case the labels of the boxes are usually incorrect they will say crank or engine but really be displaying wheel values because the dyno operator has zeros entered into other boxes. |

If wheel "dyno" equipment, does not directly measure RPM from the engine, any semblance of accuracy is impossible. In any event accuracy is only via hope and wishful thinking. However you will always have to pay.

I do think I rememeber Chike's car being dynoed in the 160 range with his 4.44. It's hard to remember.
