New Jag hits the road.
I have not found the Jaguar cars to be near the top of my dream car list. Even the E-Type is too pipe & slippers for me, but this new creation can be yours on the road for only £48k

Sorry to highjack your thread, but I found this US kit car company for the race car fan. When you look the vehicle over keep in mind this is US street legal with a turnkey (completed/drive away) version @ $23K
http://www.indystreetcar.com/ down side is it uses a Chrysler 3.5L six (anybody want to try and see if a flat six.....) |

Also rather slow and with an engine from a wreck. Doesn't look too bad though.

I think (not sure) that Florida has the easiest laws. We allow open frame dune buggies. All a car needs in FLA (aside from rudimentary safety equipment - like brakes) is a windshield/wipers, a rear view mirror, and a passenger compartment floor. No doors, no side or rear glass, no body, no fenders. Even stranger perhaps are the swamp buggies, hard to describe if you haven't seen one. Basically a modified truck so that it can run semi-submerged (in the swamp). Driver usually sits up top, not in the "normal" passenger compartment - might drown in there. |

I have a video of the Palmer Jag in action on my computer. They featured it on TopGear (European car show for those who don't yet know)

there are definitely open wheel 'hot-rods' here, but i don't know if they are actually 100% legal. i live near a park where i see them regularly on cruises, but i can't imagine any of them ever getting pulled over and issued a ticket. it would be interesting to know what the law officially says on open-wheel cars.

I doubt that it's street legal
Not because of the open wheels, but because of lack of visiblity for the driver and visiblity for other drivers, the lack of lights in prescribed positions. pretty much the same reasons that a go-kart can't be made "street legal" . Rear view mirror placement... But please someone try it... those are only my opinions
..(the ex-cop in me speaking...)

Shark, street rods must have a street rod plate to be exempt from the other standards in title 67.
