oil weight.
Do you guys suggest to run 10w30 in the summer? I have 5w30 in it. it leaks a lil from the valve cover, but wondering if that is a good idea.

Re: oil weight.
I run 20w-50 in mine all year round, but I live where it is never below 40 degrees F.
In the owners manual is a chart that shows what weight for what temperatures you should use.

Re: oil weight.
Recently I started using Mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic.
My valve covers do leak a bit now, but I know that they need to be replaced anyway. The first number in the oil description is the low side of the temperature range. 0 being the best because it can operate at extremely low temperatures. The second number is the high end of the range. Higher numbers have excellent wear characteristics but don't work at as low of temperatures. A 0w-40 is great because it doesn't sludge up in cold temperatures, and it can protect as well as a 40w. Anyway, that's my take on it. It was 20 below 0 this morning plus windchill and the car started just fine. Last year at this time I had to jump it a few times because it cranked much harder. So I am convinced that it is doing the job.

Re: oil weight.
I don't have any extreme temperatures, so I run what they suggest - 10 - 30, but I use a synthetic/regular mix, and change it at 3,000 miles.
