ej22t wont run right

ok so i did a full rebuild on my ej22t and put ej20g dohc cams on it with 2.5l intake manifold..

i started the car today but it doesnt run right at all! it backfires within the manifold and my vacum level is about 5 at 1k rpm.

i took off the #1 cylinder injector and it doesnt do anything to it running but it seems i could almost do that to any injector and it would still keep running with me giving it throttle.... my injectors were fine before the rebuild

any ideas?

When you say "Full Rebuild" what did you do exactly?

every gasket replaced, new bearings... ect... full rebuild

pull off each plug wire until you find the one thats not firing/or each injector wire if you think its not getting fuel. how did you work the engine wiring harness to be compatible with your (stock turbo?) ECU?

well is it misfiring or backfiring? Is there early detonation?. And something is not right if you didnt notice a difference when removing the injector :/. That means something inst detonating...

my coil pack is giving good spark on all cylinders. pulled each plug of the pack its self.

i can even run just the driver side cylinders n it will still stay started, it sounds like a max of 3 cylinders are going.. vacume should be near 20 not 5..

my intake makes a LOUD noise as if there is a fan in there. loudest noise from an intake ive ever heard.
its definatly misfiring but its also backfiring because u can hear popping inside the manifold

oh and real high revving, when it first started a few times it went to 4k rpm but now it goes to about 2500 or so at start up

yeh i read all of it, my t-belt is like 1 or 2 teeth off on all sides, will this cause it?

:/ yes... lol it very well can't help. try aligning them right. Did you read the part about sensors?

yeh ill make sure everything is 100% aligned tomorrow, yeh they said supposedly the plastic cams work with 2.2 sensor but wasnt confirmed. if the cam pulley is not the right cam will i still get spark?

you'll get spark but not right. it wont detonate right. Get the alignment right first and then see how it is.

do u know exactly the right cam gear i need in the sensor spot? all the cam gears were placed in a pile so they could be mis matched

not off the top of my head man but if you just grabbed two hoping they were right... lets hope nothing was messed up. Check your gears and lets hope you didnt miss match them
