SVX in a show (II)
This seems to be the season for car shows, concours, etc. Last Sunday, I put my SVX into the Huntington Beach Concours. This show has been running for 24 years now, as a benefit for the Huntington Beach Library, on whose grounds it is run. I entered two years ago with my Alfa, and took a trophy. Unfortunately, my SVX is not as pristine as the Alfa, and the class into which it was put was much more competitive. The organizers wanted the SVX because in all 24 years of the show, mine was the first appearance of an SVX. The class, Japanese Sport Coupes, consisted of a bunch of Z cars and RX7s, and my SVX. The car I was next to on one side was an immaculate original 240Z with only 30,000 miles, and on the other side was a 280Z that had been mildly customized when new, and was also a low mileage example. Between them sat my 165,000 mile pearlie. Oh well, it was a fun day. I've attached a few pictures. We all need to do this to enhance the stature of the SVX as a collectible and historically important car.
