I do not wish to argue or create an issue, but I would not like members to be incorrectly informed, particularly if they are trying to locate the actual high resistance fault.

The inhibitor switch is certainly in the line to the starter solenoid. In many cars the security system interrupt relay contacts are also in the circuit.
However Harvey is wrong in claiming the brake switch is included in the starting circuit.

P.S. I have now found after perusing several wiring diagrams, that there is also a parallel connection to the MPFI control unit, no doubt to sense engine cranking.
