Yes, the Alcyones are the only Subarus that Hagerty lists as being eligible for their collectible car insurance. I myself am lucky enough to own not only a fwd SVX L model (weighing in at 3350lbs), but also its previous equivalent: a 1985 fwd XT turbo. It weighs the same as my 81 4wd hatch..1100lbs less than its SVX stablemate and from what I've seen like 4-500lbs less than the much more ubiquitous 4wd turbos w/their air suspensions etc. That is a lot for a car this size! It reminds me of my friend's old Miata with a similar power to weight..I really love the breezy handling limits of the 175/13 tires. It always feels 10mph faster than you are really going. These cars are such polar opposites; the SVX is like having a giant as a friend. Can't imagine not having them both!
