New discs
I have just ordered a set of slotted brake discs from POTN with kevlar pads. Delivery expected in 7 days. I will let you all know what I think of them.

Price?
Thanks Andy.
Let us know the price as well. I had my fronts spun and shaved for the MoT. Works well, no judder. The guy who did it was not pleased with the job. The surface finish was not as smooth as he expected. He says the disks are made of very hard metal. They do groan a bit if you bite the brakes hard at low speed, but no problems otherwise. Next time they warp, I will have to buy new. Joe

The new discs and pads are fitted and bedded in.
I am staggered by the difference. Of course there is no shudder, as expected, but the feel is incredible. You could almost disconnect the ABS, there is that much feel. The braking performance is outstanding too. On a dry road, the front tyres 'twitter' on the ABS and the stopping distance has decreased measurably. The pads are EBC Greenstuff. The operating temparature range is much wider than the standard pads. The feel from cold is about the same as OEM but lightenens as the brakes warm up. Through a series of downhill straights and sharp slow-speed corners, the old brakes would give up every time, and I have induced a degree of brake fade on all of my previous cars if I try hard enough. As yet, I have not managed to get the slightest bit of fade in these new brakes, despite my best efforts. FYI the discs are EBCD731 Group N, and the pads are EBCDP6691 Available from www.performancebrakes.co.uk Discs are £78 each and pads are £34 (pr) + VAT Avoid dealing with Sejoc as they are nothing but trouble. For all of you on the wrong side of the pond, they are also make in left-hand-drive versions ![]()

I'm thinking about getting ebc redstuff pads. Are they geared more towards racing-only or can they be used on the street?

Thanks for the run-down Andy.
Pun intended. ![]() Interesting the pads are EBC Greenstuff. The boys in the Matra club, of which I am also a member, are also using these, and have reported good things about them. I will buy a set for the front before my next MOT is due. Joe

One month update.
Still really impressed. The 1st stop from cold needs a little more pressure, these pads seem to love heat! The feel is a vast improvement over OEM, right from the initial bite until the stop. The brakes don't grab at all, making hard braking easier and more predictable, I still feel that ABS is no longer needed. (But I will keep it for the wife's sake ![]() There has been no sign of brake fade at all, which is unusual due to the number of hills etc around here. I believe that the big difference is caused by the pads, although the new discs should be helping a little too. I will continue to keep you informed as they wear, but I am hoping for great things.
