car has really bad acceleration
I noticed this the other day while driving.
When you take off, it feels like small little shudders. I initially thought it was the tranny, but I am not sure. Tranny fluid is nice and red. I read some other posts about the MAF and maybe a coil pack going south. The idle is smooth and it only happens under acceleration. It also seems to rev ok. What are signs that the tranny is going to take a dive? BW |

Re: car has really bad acceleration
It could still be a misfire, as the majority of misfires occur at load.
I would start off by cleaning the MAF with a CRC (I believe that is the brand) MAF Cleaner (available at any auto store). Then go from there. -Sov13t.

Re: car has really bad acceleration
Yes I would think its the MAF as well.
I know this isn't the best comparison but my Grand Prix I had would do the same thing but only once in a great while. Would rev perfect in neutral or park but when I accelerated it would shudder and shake like hell. Then if I let it sit for a few hours or overnight a lot of times it would be perfectly normal. |

Re: car has really bad acceleration
I would say it is a bad coil... or something else ignition wise. I had a similar issue and it was a bad coil ( or maybe more than one since I replaced all six and the issue went away)
