Engine Dies
I have a 92 that is about to roll 100.000. Yesterday it began dieing out when I slow down or am sitting at a light. I can restart it without a problem. At a light I can rev up the rpms slightly to keep it from dieing. The problem seems to be when the engine gets warm. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks

Not A Clue
I have no clue, but the same thing is happening to me. For me it starts to idle really low and the gets really shaky before eventually dyeing. Does that happen to you too?

Engine dies
No. It just dies. Last year, when the weather turned cold, it ran rough until the engine warmed up. I had to rev the engine to keep it from running rough. I was told that it was the cold start. The dealer adjusted it, but their fix didn't last long.

Tough starting when cold can indicate an issue with the engine temperature sensor. Have you seen your check engine light come on?
Stalling can be as simple as a bad tank of gas but it could also be a sensor like the cam/crank or MAF sensors.

Could the temp sensor be related to this issue that i'm having ...
- drive 25miles to work in the morning without problems - 2.5hrs later i start the car to go to lunch and it starts to stall - 7hrs later i am able to drive home without any problems This has happened consistantly the past few weeks. The only issue i can think of is the engine is cold in the morning when i leave to work and at night when i go home. But it has some heat left when i go to lunch. I'll be pulling the codes this weekend to see what the computer has to say. Thanks |

I'm only familiar with the cold start issue regarding the "CTS". I've never come across a hot stall issue with the same sensor.
Checking codes will tell you for sure though. Best time to check is right after it stalls.
