slippy crank pulley?
hello there!
ok, i have somes problem whit my dear svx. the problem start when my power steering fails at low speed. the problem become greater when the power steering dont work anymore. after that, the chrismas three comming before Xmas ( on dashboard : power steering, battery, brake fluid, stop lights and abs failure ) now it's time to repair ... i have start to rebuild my power steering pump, clean and check alternator, replace belt and doing correct torque value, changing for a brand new battery. NO CHANGE!!!! i have check battery voltage during engine at idle -> 12.90V and decreasing same at 3000rpm -> 11.70V and decreasing !!!! ok so change alternator by an 70amp from legacy 96' -> same result. i have think the both problem have the same failure. and the only thing betwen theses problem are the belt. maybe she's slip a lot? so i have doing this : mark belt and all pulley for allignement, take some revs, and check if the belt slip on pulley! NO SLIPPING !!! at the last i have see the crank pulley have rubber inside it. so i have mark the inner ring, the rubber thing, and the outter ring. now grab the belt and try to move it. THAT SLIP!!!!! the outer ring and rubber slip on the inner ring!!!! just by hand!!!! SO MY QUESTION IS : DID THIS SLIPPING IS NORMAL????? thanks for respond! |
