Headlight Washers
How are they activated? Where is the button etc... Anyone know what parts are needed for the install?

?Good question?
Don't know the answers here Mike. However, to the left of my steering column there is a built in coin slot. I notice on the UK cars in that position there are buttons. One of these probably activates the headlamp power wash, and the other might put on the rear fog lights. Can any UK owner confirm??
Joe

We don't have them here (although the sales brochure shows a car so equipped).
I don't like the fact that they protrude - the ones on the Jaguar XK8 and the BMW 8 series are a work of art!

Haven't managed to find a button for mine yet, would be interesting to see if they work, but with all of the rain here, I can't see the point of them anyway

What's the pushbutton on the end of the stalk that controls the light functions do? Seems like a good place for it now that I think about it. Also, the switches for the seat warmers go where the coil holder is ![]() -Mike |

That switch restores the radio and clock to full illumination when the lights are on. They auto-dim normally. Andy |

According to Subaru, it is the switch immediately to the left of the cruise control, under the fuel gauge. Mine is blanked off.

Wash day blues......
OK, can confirm that the headlamp washer switch is, in fact as you describe, between rear window demist and steering column. It has a little icon of a headlamp with a washer and wiper on it. When operated it produces a jet so powerfull the splash back reaches the windscreen, so it has potential to soak passers-by as well !!
Hope this helps guys. Phil.

Andy,
So your car has the nipples on the bumper, but no way of making them squirt, right? Joe ![]() ![]()

can't tweak my nipples
Definitely the original bumper. Maybe Subaru knew that it was destined for such a wet place, so didn't bother fitting the nipple tweaker.

I also would like the switch assembly part number. I know that Joe would be haapy to order one for me and send it to the states.
