Is it tranny or just electrics?
Hello
Here's the problem: When I'm driving my svx on the freeway using cruise control, it won't lock up the torque converter and when it does, it just unlocks it again. When I'm not using cruise control USUALLY it rides with no problem, but sometimes when the problem hits very hard, it won't matter if I use cruise control or not, as a matter of fact it even shifts down to the third gear and then up to the fourth again. I read that TPS can cause odd shifting, I adjusted the TPS and for awhile it seemed to work, but now the problem is back. With the best Aimaar |

The first time I set the cruise control on my silver SVX, the tach needle ticked back and forth like a metronome. Around 2000 RPM at steady throttle, regardless of speed, the transmission would downshift without reason. Replacing the throttle position sensor completely completely cured this problem. Good luck.

This makes sense because a faulty TPS signal, would cause a slow oscillation between input and output signals, in line with the built in time delay. You have adjusted the TPS, but have you tested it as per the simple test in the how too stuff? Even then, as explained, a test with a simple meter is not absolutely conclusive.
