F.S. My '74 Ford Pinto
OK, I'm selling my Lil Pinto.
I know most of you here wouldn't be interested, but on the off chance that a lurker might be, here it is.... Here we have a 1974 Ford Pinto Runabout (hatchback). Pics.... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...%20For%20Sale/ Price....$700 Negotiable Mileage...300k on the odometer, 50k+/- on motor/trans. Location...East Tennesee. Condition.... Body: Some rust, not in the "bad" places though. Plenty of dents & faded original paint. Engine: Strong, reliable 2300OHC. Leaks oil @ the valve cover, 1QT/500mi. Starts every time, could use a tuneup, but not necessary. Trans:Solid C3 auto. Trans lines leak, could use replumbing. 1QT/200mi Could use a vacuum modulator, the one in it is from a Turbo, it holds 2nd gear too long, but otherwise works great. No shift flare. Rear Axle: Makes noise (howling) but might just be low on fluid, I haven't checked it. Interior: Custom interior 2 years ago. Nissan NX2000 seats (comfy). Custom integrated guage pod, holds 2 1-5/8" guages, could hold 3. Suspension: Older Koni gas shocks on all 4 corners (RT R broken) Factory springs, sway bar. 14" American Racing rims. NEEDS TIRES. I've owned this car for 7 years & it's only really required general maintenance items. Over that time, I've replaced the Flexplate, fuel pump, oil pump, ignition module,& Timing Belt. All told maybe $300 in parts. I LOVE my Pinto, but I can't afford 2 cars for myself. I'm in the process of buying an SVX, so this one has to go. You could drive this car home to anywhere, just not very quickly. If you need a daily driver this is it. It's not really pretty, but it IS mechanically sound.
