AWD binding M/T??
Ok, in fairness this is a Legacy question, but since there are some 5MT experts out there I thought I'd ask. My '95 AWD Legend w/Manual Transmission seems to be binding terribly when I back up and turn sharply out of a parking space. It's getting worse and now seems to do it turning forward as well.
Has anyone replaced the viscous coupling (center diff) on one of these? Does it require dropping the tranny to do so? I've dropped 4EAT automatics and replaced diffs on those, but the 5MT seems to be divided up differently. |

Yes, I belive the VC in the center diff can be accessed by pulling the back of the transmission off. However since those usualy fail by just not working anymore and letting torque go where it wants to... I might start by jacking the back of the car up and making sure the rear diff isn't busted.
