Disappointing Encounter...

While driving my Pearl '92 LS-L at lunchtime today, I glanced in the rear view mirror to see an IDENTICAL Pearl '92 behind me in the lane to my left. It passed me and pulled into the left turn lane at the approaching intersection, upon which I pulled up next to it and stopped at the light. The 50-ish woman driving was COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the fact that we had identical, rare SVX's. She didn't even glance over. For that matter, she was probably oblivious to the fact that SHE had a rare SVX. I can usually get at least a long stare from other SVX owners, but not her. Some people don't deserve to have SVX's! Gosh!

I usually flash my lights or wave when I see one. So far no one has reponded. Do not see many around. CDG works up the road so I know he would respond but I have never seen his car driving. Funny enough there is a Grey one at my work!!! Dental floss and garbage all over the seats, hair brush, always dirty and low Km'sss. Must have been given it from her parents.

it happens....people are just like that....sometimes....
but....it's true also that....they might not necessarily know what they are driving.....they think that it's just a car.....which in realistic terms...it is.... but it's different to others.

Same thing happened to me but it was a red one and the driver was some white guy with an afro listening to some weird 80's ****. I was practically hanging out the window waving and he was just looking forward. People are dumb.

I can relate, there are about three people I used to wave to all the time around here... and they never even noticed me. Maybe once the car is back on the road, with the classic look, they'll pick up on it.

I always seem to get a lot of rudeness towards my car.

I personally think it's just jealousy. One night, I had a van full of guys in like their 40's pull up behind me at a red light and they opened the back door and started screaming at me and calling me names and making fun of the car. I wish I wouldn't had been alone vs.5.

I just waved the old finger and took off and they tried to chase me, But that simply wasn't happening in my SVX

I've had numerous other occasions too of people talking smack and making gestures. Like I said, Pure jealousy.

BTW, I do also get lots of good comments and questions too though. Didn't want it to sound like everybody hates me or something.

come to the ATL meet, and we will get to cruise around and have a great time! I've seen a few SVXi around, not in Boone but back in Asheville. One of them is a member on the forum, but I forgot his handle. A possibility for that lady not responding is that she might have just been driving her husband/son/daughter's car.

Yeah no thanks. The 4 times I've driven there I've seen over a hundred cops on their outerbelt.

I like the ATL traffic, nothing like bumper to bumper at 90 MPH.........
