My warranty is about to run out on my SVX and I want to get a top line trans in it.
Anyone have a suggestion to where and what type I should go for?

Seeing as how you're in New Jersey, head to Level 10. Although not an "authorized" Subaru shop, one man on this club had his trans replaced by them and the warranty company covered MOST of it. The "most" was regular trans rebuild stuff, he just had to pay for the "extras." Give it a shot. GT is the member who had the work done. Get in touch with him so that you can get the particulars. The Level 10 tranny is supposed to be "bullet proof" although, to my mind, R&D hasn't fully born that out. Good luck.
