What is this?

Well I hope I can give an accurate enough description since I don't have a camera.

There is a small approx 1/4 inch diameter hose that goes into the backside of the intake manifold on the drivers side.

Can someone tell me what this is, and what it is for?

I accidentally broke it, it was pretty brittle so I needed to replace it anyways

There's two out of the throttle body, and one out of the manifold. Check the diagram here: http://serial.cc/vacuum.jpg

That should give you a good idea of what your looking at.

Thanks a lot! that diagram was very helpful, it was the hose to the pressure regulator. Out of curiosity, where did you get the diagram? Is there a good website link with more diagrams? I had searched the How-To docs before i originally posted.

Yup, the vaccuum line diagrams are under MISC - M - Vacuum Diagrams.

Note, many of the schematics, diagrams, and instructions are not just for the svx, but the loyale, justy, legacy, xt, and xt6, so if it doesn't look right, make sure your looking at the info for the correct car.

The pressure regulator is on the other side (pass side)... You are thinking of the brake booster line?? Thats not just a hose, it has a check valve in it and is probobly a special order from subaru
