Posting images in threads?
Can someone help me out with this?
How do you check and resize images to 640x480? How are images inserted into the thread? Thanks

Most photo programs should have an option to resize images.
You post by uploading the file to an imageserver on the web. Most IP's will have 10mb or so of space per person so you can upload to that. If you don't have a server available from your IP then do a search for free image hosting. Then copy the address where the file is. Then when you post, hit the IMG button, paste the web address of the picture in the box that comes up. It will look like this "[IMaGe]http://www.webserver.com/image.jpg[/IMaGe]" when you post it but it will show the image instead of just the tags. (note it will just be IMG instead of IMaGe) I see you have comcast - go to their homepage and look at online storage or photo server - it looks like it is free for you.

Thanks for the reply
If I delete the image from the web server it will be gone from the thread too. Right?

That is correct. If you delete the image on the web server, the result will be the infamous little red "x" in the thread:
Another option for posting images is to pay for your own website. I use Total Choice Hosting and pay $5.00/month for 400Mb of space with 10Gb/month of bandwidth. Plus I get unlimited email addresses, database space, etc.

A quick way to resize images in XP is to "right click" on the image and choose "resize" ...
/Sonny (XP is NOT "X'tra Problems" always )

I'm running XP Pro and I don't have an option to resize when I right click on an image. Is that an option that has to be enabled through the registry, or is it an add-on feature like the power tools? And how does the quality of the resize compare to a real graphics program?
I personally use JASC's Paint Shop Pro. It's got lots of options for resizing images, and it also has a great JPG and GIF size optimization feature.
