Every day I am amazed at what the main stream media does not report.
 And not just liberal versus conservative views. What has happened to the basics of journalism which used to be followed by newspapers and the TV/radio news broadcasters? Now, if it isn't sports, entertainment, politics or the outradgeous, it's not newsworthy. I, for one, would like to see more of the "good news" for balanced reporting. I work with an Iraq Kurd lady and the stories of her visits with her family are heartmarming.Gene

Is this necessary to stay in service or are longer period enlistments sometimes pre-determined?
Are they held every four years (per-individual)? Is 20 the maximum for non-officers?

Anyway, the point I was getting to with my questioning is since re-enlistment is fairly common.. well, it's debatable whether it would be newsworthy at any scale (and maybe inevitable that I would ruin your high by pointing it out). I think Alan saw it coming.
