Static from speakers when off
When I turn off the stereo, the speakers are still picking up sounds...i.e. if I hit the illumination button on the end of the signal arm, I hear a loud crackle. And different actions will make the static-y sound from speakers.
Doesn't happen all the time. Any ideas? I'm checking fuses today.

Can be a troublesome trace, but worth it, if it's persistant.

Thanks for the ideas.
Stock stereo as far as I know, and the previous owners didn't seem the type to change it. I'll check the speakers and look for an amp...under the seat, I suppose. Its weird, only does it some of the time, and different things set it off...sometimes just closing the stereo door. Rained most of the day, so didn't get to fuses. Tomorrow during my split shift.

You might need to check the wiring harness behind the radio, it could be that your speaker wires are touching another wire or metal thats causing it to make noises.

I was going to say, it sounds like one of your speaker wires has grounded itself.
Listen carefully, see if you can isolate which speaker is making the noise. Then you can run that particular wire down, looking for bare spots. Here's a GREAT chart with wire colors for the stereo. http://www.geocities.com/svxdc/Audio...adioConnPinout
