Back Glass Removal? Molding available?
Does anyone that's successfully removed the back glass have any tips on how best to do it? The defroster grid in the back glass in my driver is destroyed thanks to some rather aggressive tint removal, and I'd like to swap the glass out with the good one in my parts car...
Does anyone know if the molding is available separately, or available at all? |

Re: Back Glass Removal? Molding available?
I have been able to remove rear glass by myself saving the molding with piano wire. I have done this with 4 parts cars.

Re: Back Glass Removal? Molding available?
Well, the rear glass molding on the donor car was already damaged, so I guess I'll have to try and salvage the one off the car it's going into...

A very good glass guy should be able to transfer it. Without looking, I'd guess the molding would only come with the new Subaru glass based on the windshield issue but you could always check.

Re: Back Glass Removal? Molding available?
Well, the show's off, anyway... In getting ready to pull the glass I noticed some loose tint film near the top. Not thinking, I grabbed it and pulled it. It peeled off easily, as did most of the top half of the defroster grid. I guess I just won't have a defroster in my pearl... sigh.
