reverse glow gauges questions
k so I have reverse glow gauges I got forever ago off ebay and they look to be the same as the ones motorsport sells although i'm lost I can't get them to power up. I have the two wires plus another one i'm not sure what to do with it is similar to the ones that connect the gauges but it is open ended and looks almost like a prong ended piece that plugs into something.... anyone able to help me out???

Are you taking any pics? They could be helpful.

are thoese the kind that will change color? if so then that looks like it probly had a little knob thingy.. know what i mean? or a switch for on and off. mine change color from greenish to blue. and there is a knoby thing with a switch under it. try using your volt meter and see if you have power across the prongs. (12v) if you do then, try connecting them together.. mabie work, mabie not.. (i am not responsible for making the magic smoke come out. this is your own choice to try it

Red goes to power, black to ground (I'm sure you probably knew that already though). The two pronged one is for the on/off switch. If you don't have the one it comes with, you can just bridge the two prongs for a second with a flat blade screwdriver and they should come on. Bridge them again for a second, and they turn off.
It looks similar to the gauges I put in my girlfriend's Impreza a while back, and that's how those ones worked, so you may have some success with that.

that's it, i mounted mine in the coin tray just right of the steering wheel, so i could adjust the brightness while driving. i should have put it somewhere less visable, i think it looks too ricey now.
