1996 Polo going up for sale at the end of the summer

Just wanted to give people here a heads up. You can see the details in my sig. I will post pictures as we get closer. The car is in great shape with a few dings and some wear of the clear coat but nothing near what is typical for a car this age.

Basically, I am not going to keep a car I can't buy a friggin door check for. I would say that the car is no less reliable than my Acura but at least I can actually BUY parts for that car. It is sad.

I am wondering if I should part it out instead. I could probably make more money that way. Not sure how much I can get selling it whole but I should be able to get some good money for:

1. Totally rust free body, frame and suspension. Not even a hint of corrosion anywhere. Doors and fenders have a few dings but no dents.
2. Near perfect engine. Idles great. Great gas mileage. Great power. Burns zero oil. Oil is still honey colored at 6k mile oil change interval. Recently replaced valve cover gaskets, all cam and crank seals, timing belt and water pump. The only part that may need to be replaced is the AACV and, maybe, the PCV.
3. Near perfect tranny. Firm and seamless shifts. Zero leaks. Pristine fluid at 12k fluid change intervals.
4. Tan interior in great condition. Zero rips, tears or splits. Mild wear on driver door handle. Mild wear on driver seat. Droopy passenger visor. Everything else is operational and in good condition.
5. New front axles
6. New slotted rotors
7. New Akebono pads
8. New front struts
9. New radiator
10. New tranny cooler with four port thermostat.
11. OEM wheels in near pristine condition
12. Gold powdercoated OEM rims in very good condition
13. Newly painted spoiler, rear quarter panels, rear bumper and front bumper

That should fetch a good haul collectively. If I can even get the same as selling it whole I may part it out anyways out of spite.

there is usually at least one in the junk yard near me. i could grab you a door catch. the car is hard to get parts for but definitely not impossible.
