1992 JDM L (AWD/AWS) For Sale
My JDM failed it's MOT at the weekend and I don't have the money to fix it so it has to go.
Pics here from when I bought it. I can provide more if required. http://www.svxworldforums.com/view_t...o=35957#p35957 MOT failed on brake pads, various gaiters, p/s leak and anti roll bar pins/bushes. Also parking break causing pull to left. None of that means a lot to me as a non car guy but parts and labour to fix are out of my range right now. I suspect if you know what you are doing and have contacts for parts it may be an easy fix ? Also will need a new radiator at some point but working OK with patched one for now. Finally driver door lock wont let you insert key at the moment. Lock is fine but the latch plate that's supposed to move aside seems to be stuck. Other than that everything works, AFAIK. 68,000 miles (ish) on clock, at work right now will confirm tonight. Will also repost using proper template, if applicable, when I get home. Booked to go to the breaker on June 8th but I'd really prefer someone to keep her alive. No reasonable offer refused. Livingston, Scotland, UK. Last edited by DeltaSlyHoney; 05-29-2013 at 07:58 AM. |

Re: 1992 JDM L (AWD/AWS) For Sale
Did you get an estimate for parts and labour? Those are minor issues and no reason to scrap such a nice vehicle.
I hope someone buys it quickly. |

Re: 1992 JDM L (AWD/AWS) For Sale
Hi Blacky, thanks for your interest. I've been quoted around £800.00 to fix the M.O.T. issues. I'm guessing that's mostly labour as parts look reasonable. Importing a radiator from the US is about £400.00 and I'd need to pay someone to fit it as I'm no car guy. By the time I get the door looked at etc. I'm looking at around £1,500.00 which is about $2,250.00.
This is pretty much the full value of the car and it's a lot more than I have in hand right now. Hopefully someone more mechanical will take it on as it's the labour costs that are crippling me. I'd hate to see it die as it's in really good shape for it's age and its the rare four wheel steering model. Fingers crossed. |
