Remanufactured AWD trans F.S.

I just removed a perfectly good factory remanucactured transmission out of my 92 awd, installed at 36,000 under warranty, and swapped it out this past weekend, for a 4.44 upgrade. It has 54000 miles on the tranny, and I've changed the trans oil at least four times, probably more. If you need a replacement transmission, this would be a good one. Tom

Thumbs up

I drove Tom's car with the stock remanufactured trans just two weekends ago and it shifts solidly with no gear slippage...

This is a good transmission he's selling!

remanned tranny

New to this board and in over my head with a 92 with only 85k on the clock in need of a tranny. What's your price?
If this beast gets to burdensom I will have to let her go. A real shame.

I belive $750.00 is a fair price for a low milage remanufactured transmission that is known to be good.

The add that I saw on E-bay was a Co. in MN. The bidding was at $974.00, and it was for a trans with 104000 miles. They did not say if it was rebuilt or not, but if it is factory rebuilt it is marked as such, and they would probably mention it.
When the factory rebuilds a transmission, they install all of the upgrades available at that time, so they don't have to do it again.
I am the second owner of this car, I got at 39500 miles, about 3 years ago.
One of my first mods was an Imperial transmission cooler #241018.
Any Subaru garage can give you a cars warranty history if you supply the VIN#. Mine is; JF1CX3532NH102590

When I installed my son Nicks (boxer6) FIRST transmission, this past July 4th, we got a bad trans. It happens . So we had to do the job twice. That is a lot of labor, whether you do it yourself, or pay someone (twice) to do it. Trans filters, trans oil, pan gaskets run about $45.00, so when I did Nicks car it was $90.00 just for that. All of this is cronicled in boxer6's locker. It is a good read for anyone who just wants to replace their trans, or do an upgrade.
I belive this a fair price for a good transmission. Good luck whatever route you choose. They are wonderful cars, and a joy to drive. Tom

They list $895.00 as their BUY IT NOW price with a 250.00 core charge. I have never dealt with them. If someone knows about them pass on the word.

Phoenix

I just called their #, and their phone rep tells me it's $1050.00, with a $450.00 core charge , which is STILL a great price!
When I was looking into replacing Nicks trans (1996 4EAT) a year ago, there were NO remans, only new, and they were $5300.00 for just the trans.
Their websight is www.phoenixhardparts.com.
I could not pull up an svx trans, but someone with better computer skills probably can. Tom

If that's the kit, don't forget to add in labor to install the rebuilt parts.
