The last time I checked, drag racers were interested in raw power and not fuel efficiency.
I will agree, though, that not using the AC, or not driving it in the first place, will help. It won't get you 40mpg out of the SVX (nothing practical will, as far as I'm concerned), but it's a start I guess.
