So a 5.5% taller should read as correctly as we are able with the stock SVX componants.

Okay, check my method here (color coded for clarity, mathematical not visual, sorry):
OE tire size:
225/
50-16
16" =
406.4mm
(
225 * .
50) * 2 =
225 - height of upper AND lower sidewall
225 +
406.4 =
631.4 - height of sidewalls and rim for total diameter (mm)
631.4 + (
631.4 * 0.055) =
666.127 - compensated total tire diameter
Picking from some standard sizes
205/50-17 = 636.8 mm diameter
215/45-17 = 625.3 mm diameter
225/45-17 = 634.3 mm diameter
225/40-18 = 637.2 mm diameter
225/45-18 = 659.7 mm diameter
So, to get close enough, I need a 17" rim with 215/45-17 tire, right?
EDIT: WRONG!
I goofed up on the math for the tire diameters, current numbers are correct. The 225/45-18 should take care of it well enough.
