Yeah, they rolled down, but barely enough to crawl out through. The alternate, and preferred, path of ingress/egress is through the rear hatch. (see: http://www.bricklin.org/images/Meets/97OH/thrudoor.jpg look at the door on the far side and you'll see a window crank.)
