Sometime after the summer ill be looking to buy a SVX (after my back heals from surgery), I am a long time subaru owner, and now have a Outback. IS ther any year that stands out more then others? From reading
www.cars101 they all seem to be basically the same except for equipment and the option of awd vs fwd. I am fully aware of the tranny and wheel bearing issues. We think my day of driving a stick are over, as much as i would like one with the conversion. It seems like the engine is fairly robust, is this true?
What is the service interval for the timing belt, and what kind of nightmare (or dream) is it to change. Are the cars electronics aging gracefully? Does the car have any other weak points i should be aware of, or do they tend to be the usual bullet proof sooby construction. Do they have to run on premium, and about what is real world mileage (im just curious, as i dont really care, this would be a second car).
