Excellent Post

Mr. Cubed Pockets, I think you have just hit the nail on the head. If you don't know what you're doing then don't give advice. If you want to take it upon yourself to mess up your own property, and have the resources to remedy the screw-up, then by all means, tinker with your *own* car.

I have had to straighten out cars that have come from other shops, so it's not a matter of being toopid, so don't take it that way, no one can know it all. I've seen master GM techs that couldn't figure out a Subaru if their life depended on it. And the reverse is also true.

I think that's what set me off so badly about removing the screen from the "mass air meter", there are two very fragile hot wires in the "mass air meter" that tell the ECU what the air flow is, and that screen isn't hurting a thing, it's there to keep debris out of the delicate components. As is the air filter, I haven't heard anyone advise anyone to remove that!

What the hey, I'm over it for now, until the next time someone posts an idiotic fix for a non-existant problem.
