Darrell- if all you want is a radio that will work with the JDM SWCs, the resistor values in that wheel are compatible with PAC Audio's steering wheel interface modules. There are many recent HUs that will work with the PAC interfaces.
I can add the extra SWC wire to one of my harnesses for you, so you won't have to tap the car's wire.
I think you'll be happier with a HU that isn't 18 years old and requires the band-shift kludge to tune in the upper half of the dial here.
