You can buy the belt for about $80 and the pump for about $60. The rest of that price is labor. Having helped one member change both his timing belt and water pump, I know that I wouldn't pay a dealer $500+ to do it, since it isn't really that difficult. Granted, it did take us most of one afternoon and the next morning because we didn't have all the right tools to get the cam pulleys off to replace the seals. If it were just the belt and pump, it would've probably only taken a couple of hours.
