I have a 3.5-ton floor jack from Sam's. I also have a lightweight aluminum jack, but that will only be used for changing tires because it doesn't lift very high.

The heavy one from Sam's is not very low-profile, so I just park the car on boards before I lift it.

I agree with the above sentiments against trolley jacks, and absolutely, positively do not work on a car without jackstands.
