If I were 16, I'd be touting the safety that AWD provides.
Definitely a much better idea than a Z28... You're just asking to die there, if not by a violent collision, then by starvation as you sell everything you have just to keep up with insurance payments for a loose RWD vehicle in the hands of a male 16-year-old driver.
In high school, a guy I knew was gonna get a Mustang Cobra bought and paid for by his parents. They changed their mind when they saw that insurance would cost $8000/6 months.
