Do you think there is any problem with wrapping the exhaust pipe and CAT with insulation and then installing the heat shields over it? The front stock pipe uses a piece of insulation on the cab side of the pipe, under the heat shield, I guess to keep the floor cool.
Insulating the headers will raise the cylinder head temp somewhat, but I have no idea how much. Wrapping the pipes after the header should be fine though. It may cut down on the tranny temp slightly.
