My search of other threads suggests the tranny delay on my '92 I experience (a few seconds before it engages in "D" or "R", but no slipping at higher RPMs) is a result of the pump gasket going bad and causing a decrease in line pressure at idle. If there's something else I should check, it would be great to know about it before I do a swap.
