I had the same idea, the XT-6 tranny uses the old bell housing like the GL model use (I still have the XT-6 5-Speed tranny sitting in the garage, but I just purchased another XT-6, so I guess I've got a spare tranny for it
)
You need a 5-speed from an Impreza or a Legacy.
