The OEM one is different though from the Legacy one. Aftermarketers just don't wanna go to the expense. There is a check valve thingie that is there to keep the oil from draining back when the engine is turned off. All Subie pans are fairly big compared to other vehicles. I think my f-250 takes 5 quarts when changing the filter! That's not much more than my Brat took at 4.2.
