I almost went British with a 2002 Jaguar X-type instead of the SL. Everything I read about them was bad... I rarely keep a car more than a year or two but I'd like to be about to DRIVE it while I have it... I love the new (to me) SL, it looks great sitting in my garage
I ordered the strut mounts today and the mechanic has the hard top clamped back down so i'm good for now
