Well, I couldn't very well go to bed thinking about this,so I drove the car to a different area. Guess the frozen gravel was allowing the rear tires to slip. On pavement,you can feel the bind. So...I read a post from crazyhorse from last year on testing for this problem so I'll go with that for now. I assume changing the solonoid (if needed) is fairly involved. I'll check more things as time permits and keep you posted.
