Sounds exactly like what happens with mine.....especially when Super Special Hoon Mode 2 is engaged.....ie, overtaking over the like.
A very noticeable "thunk" that feels like something big (and expensive) has just shifted and hit something equally expensive.
I got Subaru to check it out (with a focus on the mounts) and they gave it the ok...have never really been happy with their conclusion since my Camry (thrashed to hell and back, 191,000km, 4 owners) does not have anything remotely similar.
And the reverse thunk, I get that too: put in R, pause....THUNK.
Good luck with getting it fixed/remedied....I am going grey before my time!!
