Have you figured out what you're going to do with your exhaust yet? If you don't want to go with new primary cats, you might want to consider going with high flow "race" bullet mufflers (2.25 in/out) with 1.625 OD pipe before and after them. Mychailo ended up going with Random's race pieces and I used pieces from Summit. In both cases it pretty much eliminated the resonance (I had tried just straight 1.625 pipe previously - not the way to go!) around 2.8-2.0k rpms. The race pieces don't have any packing material in them, so you don't have to worry about them shedding anything that would foul the secondary cat.
