If you wanted to retain the stock gearing of the SVX but wanted something extremely reliable, depending on what is wrong with your current unit, I would honestly suggest a partial rebuild from LAN. He replaces the clutch packs with stronger ones, replaces the brake band, modifies the valve body, and a few other things that I can't remember. Also, you may want a modified TCU that will also help tighten things up and add to the longevity of the transmission.
